Black Swan, Daughter of the storm by Richelle Mead

- Get out, bitch!
Super ... Be shoes had character.

That's all me! No sex life for months, and suddenly, all obsessed with the Underworld began to chase me ...

Eugenie Markham is a shaman. Endowed with great powers, it has a successful business by banning our world Faes and other spirits who venture there. Hired to find a kidnapped girl in the Shadowlands, Eugene discovers a prophecy that reveals the hidden secrets of her past and her subject very unpleasant future! Eugenie has nice handle the stick with as much assurance as the gun, it needs allies for such a mission. It will Dorian, a seductive Fae king with a penchant for bondage, and Kiyo, a gorgeous Shapeshifter.

I had bought when it was released but I never really found the urge to begin. Why buying in this case, you say? I have heard many many other sets of the author, Vampire Academy and Succubus Blues . The first volumes of these two series are in my library. The common reading was held gave me the opportunity to go out and motivation to read. In the end, my record is pretty mixed. There are good things and bad.

First, I liked the universe described by the author. The FAES, their world and their customs interest me greatly and I'm always curious to read novels about it. However, what really got me more, that the kingdoms and the changes occurring over time, the landscape, ... by the king or queen who governs. I found that this idea was rather nice. The mix of various mythologies or legends do not especially bothered me. Indeed, we do not find just the faes Celtic. The author also mentions creatures from Japanese tradition (Kiyo is a perfect example) but also Greek, ...

Furthermore, the author's style charmed me. It is fluid and enjoyable. The first scene is rather funny but then, I have unfortunately not found this humor. In addition, it has action, plot twists and revelations that have made that I could turn the pages without too much difficulty. However, I found that, overall, it was pretty predictable (I mean in particular the reversal Aeson Castle, near the beginning of the novel, ...). A small point I was also disturbed. The sex scene came too fast for my taste. I expected, given the summary. Nevertheless, I expected to see more towards the middle of the book not from the third chapter.

The characters are, for my part, an element Most of the novel. I like to attach myself to at least one of them ... The main character, Eugenie Markham, left me indifferent. I felt nothing for her and I did not identify, even a little bit to it. It must be said that we resemble not really. She is strong, perhaps too much. Indeed, it excels in his field and does not seem to encounter any difficulties. It did not specifically seemed realistic ... I will pass on the male characters because, apart from Wil (its apparent fragility, the fact that he wants to save his sister at any cost ...) that I liked, I did not particularly appreciated.

In conclusion, I would say it is rather disappointing to read. The pages turn easily. However, there are some things that grieved me somewhat. I did not really want to continue the series.
